The Pax Process
Schedule Your First Session
When you reach out to us, we will typically schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to ensure that we would be a good fit. Next, we will schedule an initial appointment and provide you with any necessary information and documentation.
Build A Relationship
Therapy begins with the initial intake session, which takes about 90 minutes. We use this time to discuss goals for your therapy, become familiar with your story, and begin building a relationship.
Establish A Plan
Subsequent sessions can be scheduled and a roadmap for your therapy will be started based on your needs. We collaboratively create a roadmap for your treatment (a "treatment plan"), which we will refer to and modify throughout the therapy process.
Meet & Adjust As Needed
Subsequent session are between 50 to 60 minutes in length. In these sessions, we will work together to tackle the presenting problems using the particular approach mapped out in our treatment plan. We will regularly check our progress together using different assessments, which may result in occasional pivoting in our treatment approach and plan. We will work together to find you peace.
Why Choose Us?
Our Clinicians
While our clinicians have training in various evidence-based treatment approaches (just like you would expect from most clinicians), we work hard to focus on you, rather than empirical evidence alone. You will find our clinicians to be respectful, approachable, and dedicated.
Our Flexibility
We are always striving to be flexible in our approach and conceptualization, so we may include interventions and insights from other approaches as well. We do not believe that human persons can be entirely understood through a single model of therapy, though these models can certainly be helpful. We instead honor the complexity and uniqueness of your own story through a holistic perspective. Rather than to ask you to meet us where we are, our goal is to meet you where you are.
